About Me

Welcome! Thanks for stopping by.

I'm a 20-something Ohioan living & loving in our nation's capital, reporting on this little blog about the intersection of city living & Midwestern mentality.

I have a degree in magazine journalism & currently do communications & media relations for a progressive non-profit in the heart of the capital. Though I love my job, I desperately miss reporting, writing & editing - but because I've yet to break into the "doing what I love on the side for pay" business, I identify as an aspiring freelancer & hopeful future author.

I prefer ampersands to "and," dives to clubs, flats to heels, & the Midwest to just about anywhere. My day-to-day life includes: reigning in my sarcastic streak for the sake of workplace professionalism, being a pretentious prat who reads Bret Easton Ellis novels on the Metro, and losing my cell phone in my impossibly large purses & in the rip in the pocket of my winter jacket.

Want to collaborate? I probably do, too. I'm always looking for guest bloggers, as well as for guest blogging opportunities. Reach me at suburbansweetheart@gmail.com.

Want to tell me something? I probably want to hear from you (unless you're really mean). I'm always looking for input, ideas, & constructive criticism. You, too, can reach me at suburbansweetheart@gmail.com.

You can also find me on Twitter & 20sb.
