Blogroll

There are bloggers & I like, & then there are bloggers I love. While I read lots more than this, I've highlighted here the ones that are, in my humble opinion, the cream of the blogosphere's crop. Ones marked with paper airplanes are those folks I've had the pleasure of meeting in person.

Ohio Bloggers
Cleveland's A Plum
Alexa rules the Mistake on the Lake, making Cleveland cool again – thank God! She’s funny & full of adventure, always with a finger on the pulse of Northeast Ohio.

The Hayleylujah Chorus

At present, Hayley has 1,700+ subscribers. She's a YouTube sensation & future bestselling novelist who I knew way back when - as in, I remember when she was born. Uh, weird.

A Midwest Girl
The first blog anyone every instructed me to read, way back in the summer of 2007. This anonymous Ohioan writes about life in the Buckeye State & crafts killer ANTM reviews.

Our Little Apartment
Ashley swearrrrs she doesn't write an eco-blog. And if she does, it's because going green is fun, not because she's holier-than-thou! She & her husband just welcome a lovely baby boy, Gabe.

DC Bloggers
Always a Northerner
A New York transplant living in D.C. with her husband & her dog, The Northerner's plight speaks to me: She loves the District but misses the north. Hey, me too!

Hungry Sam
One of my real-life close friends, Sam blogs about his adventures in cooking - and especially in eating. Behold, Hungry Sam's culinary manliness!

Wild & Crazy Pearl
Emily has one of the most distinctive blogging voices I’ve yet to find. Her posts are earnest & enthusiastic, true reflections of her personality, & peppered with colorful photography.

Elsewhere Bloggers
Adventures in Being Single
My high school friend Matt blogs about his life as a SWM in San Francisco. I love his snarky insight into the male mind when it comes to the 20-something dating scene.

Confessions of a Jersey Girl

Rachel is a photographer & an Army wife planning a destination wedding in Jamaica. She’s real & kind & a little sassy, & I look forward to one day meeting her in person.

Ginger Mandy
Mandy is an unapologetic ginger, as her name indicates, full of snark but also of sincerity, taking on the world one freelance gig at a time.

Good Girl Gone Blog

Alana is a tiny (no really, she’s 4’11.5”!) fashionista & lover of all things pink. Her life is amazing – this aspiring comms maven has interned at Springpad, Armani & Paypal.

It's Unbeweavable!

Liz has perfect hair & a brand new body & a go-get-'em attitude about life that I admire & aspire to achieve for myself. And did I mention the perfect hair?

Just a Titch
Amy is real, funny, emotional & everything a good blogger should be, including winner of the 2010 Bootlegger Best New Blogger Award. Also, she’s just the cutest.

Kvetching Editor

Chaviva is a newlywed, a Modern Orthodox Jew, a sometimes poet, a former journalist, a current grad student, & a tech junkie writing on all of the above & more.

Kyla Roma
Owner of the cutest blog on the block, Kyla describes herself as a “Canadian prairie newlywed lady.” She rocks an adorable pixie cut & her life is entirely enviable.

LA Midge
Brittney is small & spunky, a lover of animals & bright colors who met her husband on the Internet - a non-creepy success story! She just seems fun. And kind. And I like that in a gal.

Lauren From Texas
I'm skeptical of Southerners, but Lauren changes my mind a little. OK, a lot. Her blog convinces me I know exactly how she'll be in person - funny, awkward, kind, & a lover of laughter & ridiculosity.

Luxe Chandelier
With her impeccable style, lofty goals & inspirational drive, I adore glimpses into Steph Anne's life & love. And I covet her home decorating skills!

More Than A Mermaid
Arielle is funny. See? Even the name of her blog is funny. Get it? And even though she's Jewish like me, she once went to a convention called Santacon & I want to go to there.

Perks of Being a JAP
Newly married Lacey Bean, a self-described Jewish-American Princess, blogs about food, drink & general fun in the city that never sleeps.

Ramblings of a Fab Brunette
Margarita, another Canadian, is beautiful, fashionable AND a baker. Like, she started her own cupcake shop & makes fondant cakes. In other words, I want to be her, please.

Skinny Dip
How did I end up reading so many Canadians' blogs? Simone is a sex & relationship blogger who has more sass, snark & supreme writing skills. In other words, color me jealous.

Srsly Liz
Tattooed & tiny Liz is a designer in California. Last.fm says our taste in music is SUPER COMPATIBLE, which makes me feel cool, because Liz is cool. Srsly!

Sunshine & Potatoes
Grace is a Californian who just left three years in DC for the coast she prefers. She's an aspiring US President who blogs great recipes for Mexican food, among other things.

Undeniable Style
Kate has the same name as me, but the similarities may end there. She's infinitely more fashionable & creative than I could ever hope to be, & I'm terribly envious of her ideas & creations.

Walking With Nora
More like running with Nora, an inspirational athlete (seriously, why am I so lazy?) who writes great "obsession lists" at the end of every month.

Wearing Mascara
Julie is from the town next to mine & a graduate of my alma mater, but we didn’t find each other until DC! She’s a therapist, runner, fashion-lover & general optimist.

Your Wishcake
Kerri is my Gold Standard for blogging. She’s cute & crafty & consistently inspirational. Her design is beautiful; her words are, too. Bottom line: I want.
