Blogroll

There are bloggers & I like, & then there are bloggers I love. While I read lots more than this, I've highlighted here the ones that are, in my humble opinion, the cream of the blogosphere's crop. One marked with hearts are those folks I've had the pleasure of meeting in person.

12 Minds
Berto doesn’t blog enough, perhaps because he’s busy being in an Ivy League law school. When he does, he is the male version of me.

A Jersey Kid
If I could write like anyone, it’d be Brad. My comments never do his writing justice. Seriously, I might want to be him. Just go read him already!

Alice's Wonderland
Virginia native Alice is a pole dancer extraordinaire and an abortion clinic volunteer, among other noteworthy titles.

Ashalah
An intrepid traveler, Ashalah just picked up & moved to Boulder, where she’s making a life for herself & planning her next big vacation.

Cleveland's A Plum
Alexa rules the Mistake on the Lake, making Cleveland cool again – thank God! She’s funny & full of adventure, always with a finger on the pulse of Northeast Ohio.

Confessions of a Jersey Girl
Rachel is a photographer & an Army wife planning a destination wedding in Jamaica. She’s real & kind & a little sassy, & I look forward to one day meeting her in person.

Disgruntled Julie
Julie’s not as disgruntled as she wants you to think. She’s a baker & a scientist – what a dynamic combo! – & she blogs about both.

Dysfunction Junction
DJ is a tiny, Jewish ball of energy. She lives in Chicago & just began a new job working doing PR for the family business. Her neuroses are cuter than your neuroses.

Erin Uncensored
After applying & getting accepted to a million grad schools, Erin is figuring out the next step of her life & is the inspiration behind my 101 in 1,001 list.

Flip Flops in the Rain
Flippy writes, “If this blog were a genre of music, it’d be emo pop with some meowing and awesome stories thrown into the mix,” which pretty much says it all.

Good Girl Gone Blog
Alana is a tiny (no really, she’s 4’11.5”!) fashionista & lover of all things pink. Her life is amazing – this aspiring journalist has interned at Springpad, Armani & Paypal.

Grown-Up Lessons
Elizabeth is a nanny, foodie, and self-proclaimed fashion authority learning how to be an adult. She takes pictures of her outfits & her food, all equally beautiful & impressive.

I Hate So Much
As indicated, Maxie hates everything, but you’d be hard-pressed to find a funnier pessimist. She’s renowned for her Gaga-esque YouTube vid, “Bloggerface."

Just a Titch
Amy is real, funny, emotional & everything a good blogger should be, including winner of the 2010 Bootlegger Best New Blogger Award. Also, she’s just the cutest.

Kyla Roma
Owner of the cutest blog on the block, Kyla describes herself as a “Canadian prairie newlywed lady.” She rocks an adorable pixie cut & her life is entirely enviable.

LA Midge
Britt is small & spunky, a lover of animals & bright colors who met her husband on the Internet - a non-creepy success story! She just seems fun. And kind. And I like that in a gal.

Lauren From Texas
I'm skeptical of Southerners, but Lauren changes my mind a little. OK, a lot. Her blog convinces me I know exactly how she'll be in person - funny, awkward, kind, & a lover of laughter.

Luxe Chandelier

With her impeccable style, lofty goals & inspirational drive, I adore glimpses into Steph Anne's life & love.

Marie's Blog Cafe
“Petite with a big personality,” Marie is caffeinated & opinionated, blogging about everything from women’s rights to Lebanese food.

Only One Way Down
Mary is a Texan, a singer, an IT geek, & a convert to Judaism. I cannot confirm this, but I suspect she is eerily similar to me. Minus the Texas part.

Perks of Being a JAP
Newly married Lacey Bean, a self-described Jewish-American Princess, blogs about food, drink & general fun in the city that never sleeps.

Plight of the Pumpernickel
The Pumpernickel, so nicknamed as a baby by her mother, is a foodie and freelance journalist blogging about “all things quirktastic” in the District.

SeƱorita Rachael
Rachael, a New Jerseyite who swears she doesn’t have an accent, is a Spanish teacher by day & a telephone operator by night.

Shine Out Loud
Shine is a redhead & sometimes-vegan who doesn’t care what you think. She’s honest, loud & maybe even brash – but in a good way, & even via the interwebz.

Spleeness
Holly is obsessed with her spleen, which could be creepy but isn’t. She writes about gardening, running, her cute nephew & general weird stuff.

Sunshine & Potatoes
Grace is a Californian who just left three years in DC for the coast she prefers. She's an aspiring US President who blogs great recipes for Mexican food, among other things.

Wearing Mascara
Julie is from the town next to mine & a graduate of my alma mater, but we didn’t find each other until DC! She’s a therapist, runner, fashion-lover & general optimist.

Wild & Crazy Pearl
Emily has one of the most distinctive blogging voices I’ve yet to find. Her posts are earnest & enthusiastic, true reflections of her personality, & peppered with colorful photography.

Your Wishcake
Kerri is my Gold Standard for blogging. She’s cute & crafty & consistently inspirational. Her design is beautiful; her words are, too. Bottom line: I want.
